73rd Annual Board Meeting & Board Nominations

SkyOne Federal Credit Union’s 73rd Annual Meeting of Members will be held on Monday, April 25, 2022, 5:30 – 6:00 pm PDT. Our Board Chairman, President & CEO, and Supervisory Committee will report on the Credit Union’s financial performance in 2021. Please RSVP to marketing@SkyOne.org or by phone at 800.421.7111 to attend. For the 2022 election, there are three open positions with three-year terms on our seven-person Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee has submitted the following nominations for our 2022 Board of Directors.

 

Theodore P. Byrne, Incumbent

SkyOne Federal Credit Union member since 2004. Dr. Byrne currently serves as the Chairman of SkyOne’s Board of Directors and previously served 8 years as the Chair of SkyOne’s Supervisory Committee. In his civilian capacity, he is the Director of Labor Litigation for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Washington, D.C., and formerly worked as an FAA Attorney with the Office of Regional Counsel, Western Pacific Region. Dr. Byrne is a licensed attorney in the states of California, Washington, and Nevada (inactive) as well as a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He has earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Administration and Foreign Languages from Seattle University, a Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Pepperdine University, a Masters of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Loyola Law School, and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University. Dr. Byrne is retired from the United States Army Reserve where he served as a Lieutenant Colonel, Judge Advocate General’s Corps, and as the Executive Director of the Armed Forces Tax Council as part of the Department of Defense, Pentagon. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA), the American Bar Association (ABA), and the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA).

 

Rick Thompson, Incumbent

SkyOne Federal Credit Union member since 2001. Currently serving as Vice Chairman on SkyOne’s Board of Directors. Served on SkyOne’s Supervisory Committee from 2001 to 2015. Worked for the FAA as an air traffic controller for 28.5 years at the Anchorage Air Enroute Traffic Control Center (ARTCC). Charter Member of the National Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA); served as the Alaskan Regional Vice President on NATCA’s National Executive Board for 12 years, served on NATCA’s National Finance Committee for three years and is currently serving as the president of NATCA Members Investment (NMI). Thompson was awarded NATCA’s Dale Wright Award for a distinguished career in service to NATCA and the national airspace system; earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota, including a Professional Pilots license with an Instrument Rating; completed an 18 month Certified Financial Planning course from Florida State University.

 

John Clancy, Incumbent

SkyOne Federal Credit Union member since 1976 and was elected to serve on SkyOne’s Board of Directors as a volunteer for 24 years. Was employed with the FAA for 34 years and was both an Air Traffic Manager in the Terminal Option, Enroute Option and retired in 2007 as a Senior Executive Service, Director of Western Terminal Service Area-based in Seattle, Washington. Since retirement, John founded his current company ClancyJG International and today is the CEO, employing over 100 nationwide. John has both Federal Government & Commercial Contracts with the DOD (Navy & Air Force), Federal Aviation Administration with instructors at Albuquerque Center, Houston Center & Kansas City Center. ClancyJG International has additionally served as a sub-contractor & prime contractor for the past 14 years.

 

If there is one nominee for each position to be filled and no additional nominees, there will be no election by ballot and the above nominees will be elected. There will be no nominations from the floor during the Annual Meeting. Other candidates may be considered for election by submitting a petition by February 10, 2022. This petition must include signatures from 500 members, a statement of qualification, biographical data, and a signed certificate stating that he or she is agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected.
