A Message From New SkyOne CEO, Joseph Whitaker

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as CEO of SkyOne Federal Credit Union. We are wholeheartedly committed to providing you with financial peace of mind, and excellent service. With my 34 years of experience in financial services, the past 28 years being in the Credit Union industry, I’ve learned how fundamentally important it is to care about the long-term success of the people we serve. It is heartwarming to see how credit unions serve as a partner throughout member’s lives and improve entire families’ financial well-being. This is what inspires us as SkyOne employees each day to become better, overcome challenges, and rise above for you, our members.

Our vision includes doing the right thing for our members at the right time. It means meeting your financial needs and wants by providing you with the right products, services, and tools at the right time. We’re improving our processes to make it easier for you to do business with us which will make it simpler for you to accomplish your financial goals.

    I have been having problems making a transfer between accounts after hours on the website…..getting “unknown error” try again ….but it does not work….until the next morning.
    Why is that? and when are you going to fix it?….has happened many times !

    New CEO, now my once free interest cash advance from my Cash Advance Credit Card has a 3% interest on the amount withdrawn. Caught me by surprise after I used it last month (October), I hadn’t in a while. On top of that, NO MORE free checking. I have been with this bank since I was 16… so now 12 years; and I must say I am very disappointed in this change. And what makes me even more upset is that I have been waiting for this bank to revamp the online banking interface, to be more user friendly in terms of having more control to set automatic payments; instead of calling to have it done. And what I got instead was interest on my cash advance and banking at a cost. I am considering switching to USAA for checking now and will consider my 3 family members who I led to join SkyOne, to do the same. I just got off the phone with my mom telling her check her checking account, and she didn’t even know she was being charged.

      We’re sorry the Cash Advance fee and Checking Account fee caught you off guard. We made sure to send out correspondence regarding fee changes.

      Regarding the checking fee, we have multiple ways for you to get that fee waived. Read more about those options and which one would work most for you on this page: Advantage Checking Account Update

      For SkyOne to compete and help our members thrive, we feel these adjustments will help us deliver world-class service to all SkyOne members. Even with these adjustments, compared to other institutions, SkyOne’s fees are below the industry average. We take great pride in doing all we can to help our members today and well into the future.

    We’re sorry to hear that you had a less than ideal experience with us. Please send us an email at memberservice@skyone.org with your name and phone number and we will reach out to make sure the issue you experienced is fully addressed.

    There are many reasons why a loan payment might not process on payday which we’re happy to go over with you. We also have a section on our Advantage Checking Account page and Fee Schedule that goes over the several options you have to waive the $5 monthly fee, which we can explain when we reach out to you.

    I have a question, Can you all send me some No postage-stamp necessary envelopes. I have asked and no reply??? Reason I ask this is because I live in San Antonio, Texas and bank there often.. There is no Sky One here in San Antonio. If possible. Please let me know. Thank you
